Kelsey is an Entertainment Coordinator of Current Programming at NBC Universal. Unlike a position in programming development, she works with existing shows in the NBC line-up to build up audience viewership. Kelsey and her team have the final say on edits and creative content for every concept, script and idea that is presented to the networks current programming department.

>> Kelsie Conklin: My name is Kelsie Conklin. I work for NBC Universal. I'm a coordinator in current programming. So that I work on scripted shows that are currently on the air. It differs than development in that I don't create concepts for TV shows, but we work on the shows that are already pilots and basically maintain them. We try to keep the audience engaged, develop story lines, and maintain shows so that they stay on air as long as possible. So I work directly with the senior vice president of current programming and also a manager in current programming. Basically, our job as the network is to be the final say in all edits and all creative content of the show. So we approve or disprove basically every cut, every script, every concept, every idea that comes in. My job is to work with the executive producers and their assistants, agents, and their assistants. Lots of people in the industry and their assistants, and I'm the first point of contact that you will talk to whenever trying to get into basically our department. If you want to talk to my two bosses. I personally do kind of all administrative duties along with creative feedback on everything. So it sounds a little not boring at all because everything I do, the content is very interesting. So I just finished up "The Office". I work on "Parks and Recreation". Michael J. Fox is basically our most highly anticipated show, I would say, if not one of the most, of the NBC fall season. So everything I do, whether it's administrative or creative, is always interesting. It's always very fast paced. There's a lot of pressure. At the same time, it's very, very fun. So my job is to be kind of the gate keeper externally. So if you need to get information from the department, I'm the person that'll talk to you, and at the same time, for my bosses, I try to burden some of the stress since they have so much on their plate. So I kind of need to know everything because at any given moment, they could ask me for information on any of their shows. In combined, they have ten plus shows. So I need to know kind of everything about every show.
