What We Seek
The Food Project is seeking an Agriculture Worker for the 2025 growing season at our Reynolds Farm in Wenham, MA. The Agriculture Worker will partner with the Director of Farms and Food and Assistant Grower to participate in all aspects of production at our farm site. This position is a mix of production and youth engagement.
Responsibilities
Farming
- Partner with the Assistant Grower and Director of Farms and Food to accomplish all manner of farm tasks, with quality and efficiency, including mulching, planting, irrigation and weeding.
- Partner with Director of Agriculture, Assistant Grower and partner farm on site, to lead youth in a meaningful and engaged work experience on the farm.
Youth and Volunteer Engagement
- Partner with Assistant Grower to lead farm work for youth programs on the farm.
Organizational Health
- Participate in weekly 1:1 supervisory and Ag team meetings
- Feedback Participation: Real Talk, circle process, etc.
Qualifications
This position is ideal for an individual who is interested in both sustainable agriculture and youth engagement. Our farms are run in partnership with youth and community members.
Experience working in diverse settings are strongly preferred.
- Able to perform labor-intensive agricultural tasks
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and energy for engaging with other people
- Dependable, responsible, flexible, and open to learning
- Ability to work a 40-hour schedule: Monday – Friday
- 18+ years of age
- Food Project alums a plus
- Enthusiasm for working with teenagers
- Team-oriented with a good sense of humor; able to work independently.
- CPR and First Aid certified or willingness to be trained
- Valid driver’s license and able to pass driving background check
- Able to pass a CORI/SORI background check
Location & Schedule
This is a seasonal position – 40-hour 13 week from June-August
