What We Seek
The Food Project is seeking an Agriculture Worker for the 2025 growing season at our Lincoln Baker Bridge Farm. The Agriculture Worker will partner with the Farm Manager and Assistant Growers to participate in all aspects of production at our farm site. This position is a mix of production, distribution, community, and youth engagement.
Responsibilities
Farming and Distribution
- Partner with the Assistant Grower and Farm Manager to accomplish all manner of farm tasks, with quality and efficiency, including composting, bed preparation, mulching, planting and weeding.
- Partner with the Assistant Grower and Farm Manager to learn about, implement, and troubleshoot new farm practices.
- Weekly deliveries in farm van/truck to deliver produce to organizational partners, food access organizations and wholesale accounts in and around Boston.
Youth and Volunteer Engagement
- Partner with Assistant Grower and Farm Manager to lead farm work for youth programs and volunteers on the farm.
Organizational Health
- Participate in weekly 1:1 supervisory and Ag team meetings
- Feedback Participation: Real Talk, circle process, etc.
Qualifications
This position is ideal for an individual who is interested in both sustainable agriculture and youth engagement. Our farms are run in partnership with youth and community members.
Experience working in diverse settings are strongly preferred.
- Able to perform labor-intensive agricultural tasks
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and energy for engaging with other people
- Dependable, responsible, flexible, and open to learning
- Ability to work a 40-hour schedule: Monday – Friday (Summer) or Tuesday – Saturday (Spring & Fall)
- 18+ years of age
- Food Project alums a plus
- Enthusiasm for working with teenagers
- Team-oriented with a good sense of humor; able to work independently.
- CPR and First Aid certified or willingness to be trained
- Valid driver’s license and able to pass driving background check
- Able to pass a CORI/SORI background check
Location & Schedule
This is a seasonal position for 40-hour per week , 16 weeks from May-August OR Seasonal 40-hour 16 week position from June-September.
